Most Allen's Damsel Fish reach lengths of two inches (seven centimeters). The lower edges of their tails have black streaking. The rest of the fish is a beautiful bright blue hue, save the tail and the underside of the fish, which are golden.

Allen's Damsel Fish can be kept in temperatures between 72 and 78 degrees. The pH should be 8.4, with specific gravity between 1.020 and 1.025 unless there are invertebrates in the aquarium in which case the lower limit should be 1.022. Water quality should remain high. Most Allen's Damsel Fish can be maintained nicely on flake foods, supplemented with protein and vegetable items.
Breeding
